Subject: Recruiting Participants for a Web-based Experiment

Hello. We are inviting native speakers of English aged 18 and over to complete
an online questionnaire which will take 15-20 minutes. You will be asked to
read short sentences and evaluate how well some words in these sentences are
explained by definitions that will be provided. This project has been granted
ethical approval by the IPU New Zealand Tertiary Institute Human Ethics
Committee.
In acknowledgement of your time and effort we will include you in the prize
draw for Amazon gift cards worth 50 NZ dollars.

By following the link below you give your consent for us to use your responses
in the research project.

The survey is strictly anonymous. Any personal information, e.g. age, gender
or education level, will be collected for statistical reasons only, and no
identities will be associated with any responses. The collected data will be
stored in password protected file for the duration of this study and will be
destroyed 2 years after the conclusion of the research.

The results of the study will be published in articles based on the data in
scholarly journals. Additionally, we will produce a summary report of the
findings of the project for participants which will be sent to you if you make
this request by selecting the appropriate option on the survey webpage.
