Advances in Information and Communication Technologies have had a significant
impact on the use of English in academic and professional contexts. For
example, digital media have made it possible for specialists to engage with a
greater range of audiences through the internet and also made innovative forms
of multimodal, hypertextual communication possible. In this way, digital media
have had an effect on the target literacy practices in English for specific
purposes (ESP) courses. They have also opened up many innovative possibilities
for the teaching of specialized language. This special issue will address
these changes and what they mean for ESP.

We invite abstracts for research articles, review articles, ''Innovations in
Practice'' reports, viewpoints, and book and/or technology reviews that
address the theme of this issue. More information about these articles types
is available at
https://uk.sagepub.com/en-gb/asi/journal/relc-journal#ArticleTypes.

Topics could focus on digital media and:
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
- English for Professional Purposes (EPP)
- English for Research Publication Purposes (ERPP)
- English for Occupational/Vocational Purposes (EOP/EVP)
- English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
- Business English
- Workplace English
- English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI)
- New technologies and digital learning in the ESP classroom
- Language Teacher Education in ESP
