Description:

Bogazici University, the Department of Foreign Language Education invites
applications for a full-time assistant professorship to begin in 2020.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have native or native-like fluency in English with
demonstrable skills in oral and written communication. A PhD in Second
Language Acquisition and Teaching or Applied Linguistics (or in a closely
related field) is required. Expertise in ‘online language learning’ and
‘teacher education’ is a must. Applicants must have a strong commitment to
undergraduate and graduate education and are expected to supervise MA and PhD
students and develop a research program. Teaching experience at the university
level is desirable. Proof of publication is expected.

Responsibilities:
The position involves teaching undergraduate courses on technology-enhanced
language learning, curriculum design and materials development as well as
supervision of the practicum of senior students. Applicants will also be
expected to have a strong research agenda and to participate in scholarly
activities.

Department Information:
The Department of Foreign Language Education within the Faculty of Education,
has 14 full-time faculty members. The department offers undergraduate and
graduate degrees in English Language Education and Applied Linguistics.

University Information:
Boğaziçi University was founded in 1863 under the name of Robert College as
the first American college established outside of the US. Since then it has
served as a leading international institution of higher education in the
region. In 1971, it was transformed into a Turkish state university in which
the medium of instruction is English. The university maintains broad
international educational exchange programs with a significant number of
