Department of English Professors / Associate Professors / Assistant Professors
(Applied English Linguistics) (Ref. 190002BK) (Closing date: November 22,
2019)

The Department of English is now inviting applications for the posts of
Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor. The Department seeks
applicants from each of the following research areas: i) social semiotics and
multimodality, and/or critical discourse analysis and ii) corpus linguistics,
world Englishes, or grammar.

Applicants should have:
- A PhD degree in applied English linguistics or a language-related
discipline; 
- A strong record of refereed publication; and 
- Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate level teaching experience. 

The following are also desirable:
- A record of successful grant application; 
- Experience in supervising and guiding research postgraduate students; and 
- Relevant administrative experience.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years
initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term
appointment or substantiation later.
