Description:

The position of a post-doctoral researcher is attached to the historical
linguistic research group at the English Department, where the evolution of
English is investigated empirically and with quantitative methods. 

The successful applicant will participate in research, teaching, and
administration. They will develop and strengthen an independent research
profile in the area of historical evolutionary linguistics, be involved in
projects of the historical linguistic research group, and teach courses in the
BA and MA programs in English Studies and English Linguistics. 

We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in the area of language history or
evolution, with an excellent command of quantitative methods for describing
and modeling linguistic change and evolution, and with the ability to analyze
data from historical stages of English.
