Description:

Lionbridge is looking for Computational Linguists to work with our client’s
Natural Language Processing team based in Barcelona, Spain.

Responsibilities:
- Working together with engineers and other team members to develop natural
language processing code specific to your language.
- Provide input and suggestions towards innovating new approaches and new
product features tailored to your home market.
- Evaluate and analyze data quality and improve linguistic resources by using
case templates and expansions, non-terminals and dictionaries for speech
recognition and speech synthesis.
- Working towards improving accuracy by identifying errors and regressions.
- Actively proposing solutions and fixes to test features.
- Automating and integrating workflow from diverse systems.
- Update and correct existing transcriptions, as well as recording audio and
creating audio tests.

Key Qualifications:
- University level degree (Masters preferred) in Linguistics/Phonetics or
Computational Linguistics (or equivalent experience).
- Native speaker fluency in Spanish (Mexico, US or Spain), German or in
English (United States, UK or Australia).
- Ability to work in an English speaking environment.
- Extended and proven knowledge of structural aspects of the language such as
syntax, semantics, phonology and phonetics.
- In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of popular native culture and ability to
use that knowledge to inform data analysis.
- Quick prototyping, scripting and tool development (Python, Perl, Ruby,
Shell, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication, team player mentality,
collaborative in nature, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage
priorities.
- Experience with one or more version control systems, preferably Git.
- Experience working with large quantities of natural language data, lexical
resources, corpora, NLP algorithms and tools preferred, but not required.
