LOT Winter School 2020

Focus: LOT's Winter school covers all major areas of linguistics and teaches a wide range of methodological tools and theoretical frameworks.
Minimum Education Level: MA


Description:
The LOT Winter School 2020 is hosted by Tilburg University. The programme
contains 18 courses on a wide variety of relevant topics in linguistics,
taught by researchers from all over the world. The LOT school is now open for
PhD students in Linguistics.

Courses will be taught by Dr Katrien Beuls & Dr Paul Van Eecke (Methods in
Computational Linguistics), Dr David Peeters  (Methods in Psycholinguistics),
Prof. Shravan Vasishth & dr Bruno Nicenboim (Methods in Advanced statistics),
Dr Heike Pichler (Language use / discourse), Prof. Sjef Barbiers (Methods in
Syntax), Dr Massimiliano Spotti (Methods in Ethnography), Dr Tineke Snijders
(Neurolinguistics), Prof. Francis Hult (Language policy), Dr Gerben Mulder
(Statistics), Dr Lauren Fonteyn (Methods in Historical Linguistics), Prof.
Theo Marinis (Language Acquisition), Prof. Jos Swanenberg (Sociolinguistics),
Dr Neil Cohn (Multimodality), Dr Berit Gehrke (Semantics), Dr Annemarie
Verkerk (Typology), Prof. Roumyana Slabakova (Bilingualism), Prof. Dirk
Geeraerts & Mariana Montes (Language & cognition), Dr Silke Hamann (Phonology)

In addition to these advanced courses in Linguistics, there will be discussion
groups to discuss your own PhD research, poster sessions, a public lecture by
Theo Marinis, and a range of social events.


Tuition: 200 EURO

Tuition Explanation: 200 euros for one week or 350 euros for two weeks
