About the role:
Applications are invited for a Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics and
Language Teaching (ALLT) with a specialization in Second Language Acquisition
(SLA)/Instructed Language Learning (ILL) in the School of Cultures, Languages
and Linguistics.

You will be expected to teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate
courses in applied linguistics and language teaching. You will also be
expected to supervise postgraduate students and to contribute actively to the
research culture of the ALLT Discipline and the School of Cultures, Languages
and Linguistics.
You will have a PhD in Applied Linguistics/TESOL/Linguistics with a proven
track record of research and teaching at the university level. Experience
teaching and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses is required,
as is research expertise in quantitative research methodologies. A
specialization in SLA is required, including an active research program in
SLA/Instructed Language Learning.

Our ideal candidate:
Someone with an established record of research and publications in the field
and has used quantitative/statistical methods in SLA/applied linguistics
research. A record of supervising graduate research students (MA, MTESOL, PhD)
to completion is also essential. 

Must have experience coordinating and teaching undergraduate and graduate
SLA/ILL courses at university level in a multicultural environment, and using
and teaching quantitative research methodologies in SLA/applied linguistics.
