Description:

Position Summary:
Michigan State University seeks to fill a one and a half year, fixed-term
position in Linguistics, with specializations in linguistics and cognitive
science. The position will begin January 1, 2020 and continue through the
academic year 2020-2021, in the Department of Linguistics and Germanic,
Slavic, Asian and African Languages. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
qualifications.

Teaching load will be 2 courses plus research participation and student
mentoring in one of the Linguistics program labs (Language Acquisition,
Neurolinguistics, Phonetics) in Spring 2020, and 5 courses plus research
participation and mentoring in the 2020-21 academic year. Teaching duties will
include teaching an upper level introduction to Cognitive Science, and an
upper level introduction to Linguistics.

Required Degree:
- Doctorate

Minimum Requirements:
- PhD

Desired Qualifications
Research experience in linguistics as a cognitive science and a demonstrated
record of teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in the US.

Desired Degree: PhD in linguistics or related field at the time of
appointment.
