Description:

The Neuroscience of Language Lab at Duke University invites applications for a
postdoctoral scholar. Our lab is affiliated with the Duke Institute for Brain
Sciences (BIAC) and the Linguistics Program, which includes a vibrant,
interdisciplinary community of language researchers with expertise in
cognitive linguistics, neurolinguistics, multilingualism, language
acquisition, language and aging, and cognitive neuroscience. State-of-the-art
scanning and data analysis facilities are available and located at BIAC in the
Duke Medical Center. Research focuses on cognitive neurolinguistics, fMRI
studies of language(s), the role of multilingualism and musicianship in
building cognitive reserve, approaches to delaying the onset of symptoms of
dementia. Methodology includes sociolinguistic research methods and
ethnographic methods.

The ideal candidate would have a background in cognitive neuroscience and
linguistics. Experience with fMRI data analysis (including FSL) and/or
programming would be beneficial.
