Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Georgia invites
applications for a full-time Lecturer position. The successful candidate will
demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and should have at least
two years of teaching experience, with the ability to offer a range of
different courses. The teaching load is 8 courses per year and will include
our introductory course in linguistics, undergraduate syntax, and
undergraduate or split-level undergraduate/graduate courses in other areas,
such as historical linguistics, languages in contact, typology, etc.,
depending on the areas of expertise of the candidate and the needs of the
program. 

The appointment will begin on August 1, 2020. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in
Linguistics in hand at the time of appointment. This position is renewable,
based on performance. Promotion to Senior Lecturer is possible after six years
of service.
