Meeting Description:

LIF2020 – 7th International Language in Focus Conference, the learning
adventure, will be organized in Valletta, Malta, April 30 – May 2, 2020, in
collaboration with Cukurova University – Turkey, The University of Sheffield
International Faculty, CITY College – Greece, and University of Malta. Annual
International LIF Conferences have already become an academic platform for
exchanging ideas, projects and scientific research between aspiring academics,
teachers, university students, and well-known researchers thanks to your
invaluable contributions. In harmony with this spirit of academic enthusiasm,
we would like to invite academics, scholars, representatives of central and
local educational authorities, non-governmental organizations, school teachers
and practitioners representing an exciting diversity of countries, cultures,
and religions to meet and exchange ideas and views in a forum encouraging
respectful dialogue. LIF2020, to be held in Valletta, Malta, will constitute
an excellent opportunity to meet experts in various areas of ELT and language
studies.

The Aims of LIF2020 Learning Adventure are:

Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on
good practices within English Language Teaching;
Strengthen and broaden the network of English language teachers and all those
involved in the ELT sector worldwide;
Increase the links between the ELT communities;
Showcase research in the fields of applied linguistics and language education.
 
Who Participates in this Learning Adventure:

The conference brings together the following groups of stakeholders from all
over the world:

Classroom teachers of English and teacher trainers;
Researchers and graduate students in the fields of ELT and Linguistics;
Administrators of English language schools and universities;
Educators with an interest in international language education;
ELT-related individuals and institutions and Ministry of Education
representatives;
Foreign experts or researchers who wish to network within the global ELT and
Applied Linguistics communities.


Call for Papers:

We are deeply appreciative of all your insightful and vital academic
contributions to LIF – Language in Focus Conferences. Annual International LIF
Conferences have already become an academic platform for exchanging ideas,
projects and scientific research between aspiring academics, teachers,
university students and well-known researchers thanks to your continuous
eagerness for innovation, creativity and life-long learning spirit. 

The organisation of the LIF2020 Conference is in progress and the initial
selection of the presentation proposals has already started. Due to many
requests for an extension of the deadline the LIF2020 Conference, organizers
have agreed to extend the deadline for submission from December 2, 2019 to
January 10, 2020.  Those who have not submitted the proposal yet are kindly
asked to send it by January 10, 2020.  Abstracts of papers, panels, workshops
or posters in the range of 200-250 words should be submitted through our
conference website: www.languageinfocus.org

Notifications of acceptance will be sent by January 15, 2020.

Conference Publication:
Accepted presentations will be published in an edited book.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION:

Abstracts of papers, workshops or posters in the range of 200-250 words
together with the registration form should be submitted via the conference
website using the Abstract Submission form by January 10, 2020. Each
participant will have the opportunity to present up to 2 papers. You will be
notified about the status of your submission by January 15, 2020.

Conference Fee:

The conference/registration fee, which covers registration fee, conference
materials, welcome cocktail, lunches, refreshments during the coffee breaks,
conference dinner and the cost of subsequent publication is: 
- €270 (Early Bird Registration by February 3, 2020)  
- €300 (Regular Registration Fee- Deadline: by March 2, 2020)  
- €250 (Student Fee (B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. Students by February 3, 2020)

LIF2020 Conference venue is University of Malta, Valletta Campus
(St Paul Street Valletta. VLT 1216). 

Accomodation
Our participants will be informed on detailed information about various
options about the accommodation in the third circular and on LIF2020 website
soon.
