Meeting Description:

After the overwhelming success of the 1st ICT 2019, where the focus was
‘Translation and Culture”, and the reassurance it received from a number of
renowned scholars in the translation studies, we are ready and pleased to
announce the 2nd International Conference on Translation (2nd ICT 2020).

The Department of English Language and Literature at Kuwait University invites
scholars, researchers, and translation specialists to the 2nd International
Conference on Translation on 1st of March 2020 at Kuwait University, Kuwait.

The theme for the 2nd ICT 2020 is ‘Translation and Technology”. It is our aim
in the 2nd ICT 2020 to advance the drive of translation thinking and analysis
so as the interlocutors are indeed connected and the message is appropriately
communicated.  With the help of the high-tech era, the platform for human
communiqué is exceptionally open, and we are keen to reveal its mysteries.


Call for Papers:

Researchers are invited to submit their abstracts on one or more of the
subfield of the conference. The 2nd ICT 2020 will run simultaneously using
English, Arabic, French, and possibly other languages. Although, the main
theme of the conference focuses on the involvement of technology in
translation, but other related and enhancing themes/topics are equally
encouraged.

- Audiovisual Translation

- Computer-aided Translation

- Corpus-based Translation

- Digital Lexicography

- Localization

- Machine Translation

- Online Translation

- Post-editing Machine Translation

- Technology-based Interpreting

- Terminology Management/Translation Memory

Participations are solicited for the main sessions of the conference. A
session will last for 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.
Interested participants who are willing to organize a special session, and/or
suggest a workshop session, and/or alike are encouraged to communicate with
the conference organizer at the email herewith. The sooner your communication
is, the more likely that it will be entertained. 

Abstracts are expected to be approximately 200-300 words in length (not
including the title and references). Please submit your abstract in WORD
format as a file attachment to: ICT at arts.ku.edu.kw, by 7 November, 2019.

In the body of the e-mail, kindly include the following information:

1. Title of abstract.

2. Area of translation addressed in the paper/keywords.

3. Name(s) and affiliation(s) of presenter(s).

4. E-mail address of each presenter.
