Job Description for LearningBranch NLP Specialist

Start Date: Immediate 
Duration: Part time / contract position for 6 months
Job Title: NLP Specialist

About the job:
LearningBranch has developed a soft-skill assessment tool that predicts an
individual’s ability to communicate effectively in real-world customer service
interactions. Corporations and educational institutions are using our
cloud-based language and communication skills tools to deliver
listening/speaking assessments and training. 

Job Description:
We are looking for a Masters or PhD candidate to assist with ongoing
development of our soft skill evaluation tool. This position could turn into
full-time for the right person.

The candidate will have good experience and familiarity with tools and
techniques in natural language understanding, natural language processing and
machine learning. Experience applying tools in educational environments is a
plus.

The candidate will work with a team of 2 others to develop additional
components to the soft skill evaluation tool.

Detailed qualifications:

We are looking for someone with some or all of the following skills:
- Spoken language dialog systems
- Automatic speech act / dialog act recognition
- Computational discourse analysis
- Semantic role labelling
- Semantic relatedness evaluation
- Keyphrase extraction
- Automatic paraphrasing, essay scoring, grammatical error detection
- Python, Java, Javascript
- NLTK / Stanford NLP (or similar)
- SciPy / Weka (or similar)
- Spacy
- WordNet
- Kaldi
- Amazon Web Services (Lambda, EC2)

Requirements:
Must be Canadian citizen

Location:
Virtual. We offer a flexible workplace and are looking for people who can
