Description:

The Department of Linguistics (Institut für Sprache und Information) at the
Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf invites applications for a one-year
full-time lecturer position in Computational Linguistics, to begin April 1,
2021.

Requirements:
- Completed Ph.D. by the time of application
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: 
1. Recurrent neural networks for language models
2. Distributional semantic modeling in vector spaces
3. Probabilistic approaches to NLP.

Desired Assets:
- Expertise in semantics
- Experimental methods and statistics

The successful candidate will conduct research in the domain of computational
linguistics, participate in the preparation of grant proposals, and teach a
limited number of classes at the BA, MA and PhD levels. Knowledge of German is
not required.

The start date is April 1, 2021, and the initial appointment is until March
31, 2022 (with a possibility of an extension). Salary is on the German scale
TV-L E13, %100.

Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree (or an equivalent degree) by the
time of application.
