Department: Digital & Smart Analytics, Information Technology
Job Location: Bratislava, Slovakia
Job Title: Computational Linguist
Job Rank: Computational Linguist

Specialty Areas: Semantics; Computational Linguistics, Knowledge Engineering

Required Language(s): English (eng)

Description:

You will be responsible for an application which is part of SwissRe's document
processing platform ADAPT, which is maintained by the Digital and Smart
Analytics Solutions team. You will act as a linguistic expert and power-user
of a market-leading linguistic rule-writing tool called Cogito Studio.

Are you ready for a new opportunity?

Together with your colleagues, you will work on the development and curation
of domain-specific ontologies and rule bases.
You will develop linguistic rules for the customised extraction of information
or classification of documents.
You consult the team and colleagues on how to build, maintain and use
taxonomies over their life-cycle for our projects.

About You:

- You have a degree in computational linguistics, mathematics or related field
and a deep understanding of language analysis (morphology, syntax, semantics)
- You have basic programming skills (preferably Python) to write data
processing scripts to transform or extract knowledge from unstructured data,
including hands-on experience with regular expressions.
- Curious and interested in learning new things
- Strong command of English language (both oral and written).

Behavioural Competences:

You are a great teammate with a ‘can do’ attitude and you like to work in an
interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment. As a matter of trust, we
offer you a high degree of flexibility which matches your independent working
style.
You are creative and want to bring in your own ideas to push product
development further.
Working on multiple assignments in parallel doesn't prevent you from
delivering high quality work and meeting deadlines.
If you think that you bring the right knowledge, experience and personality
for this job opportunity and for our team, we would love to hear from you!

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do
not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin,
gender, including gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age,
marital status, or disability status. Swiss Re offers modern work models and
attractive work places that allow all employees to adapt to changing work
preferences and life phases.

This position may also be filled in Bangalore, India.
