Subject: Speakers needed to validate stimuli

Calling all speakers of Albanian, Arabic, Basque, Georgian, Hebrew, Hindi,
Japanese, Malay, Mandarin, Mongolian, Russian, and Welsh!

We are currently in need speakers of the languages listed above for our
upcoming study on sound symbolism.
We translated our stimuli into the 12 languages mentioned above using a
variety of sources with varying reliability. Therefore, before we conduct the
study, it would be appreciated if anyone who speaks any of the languages or
who are familiar with the languages, could please double-check that we chose
the most common translation of each word and that the IPA transcription for it
is correct.

Our study will include translations of the words:

- Little / Small (relative to size)
- Short (relative size)
- Tiny
- Large
- Long
- Huge
- Light (relative to how bright something is)
- Bright (relative to something that is full of light and strong in colour)
- White (the colour)
- Dark (relative to the lack of brightness)
- Dim (relative to the lack of brightness)
- Black (the colour)

Below are the translations and IPA transcriptions that we found.
For some meanings, we could not find a direct translation in some of the
languages. If there are translations for these words, please let us know.

Please let us know if you think that the translations and IPA transcriptions
are correct and if you have errors to correct! Please email your feedback to
peonelyn.ricalde.2016 at live.rhul.ac.uk.

Thank you for your help!
