Meeting Description:

We are delighted to announce that the sixth edition of the Languages for
Specific Purposes in Higher Education conference, LSPHE 2020, will be held at
the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th
September 2020.

The main keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Stefania Maci, full
professor of English Language and Translation and Director of the Centro di
Ricerca sui Linguaggi Specialistici (CERLIS) at the University of Bergamo,
Italy.

The conference will start at 9am on Thursday 3rd September and finish at 5pm
on Friday 4th. There will be a €60 registration fee, which includes two
lunches and refreshments. 
 
An informal conference dinner (not included in the conference fee) will take
place on the evening of Thursday 3rd. 
 
Further information regarding registration, alongside a provisional programme,
will be circulated by email and posted on our website (www.lsphe.org) around
April.


Call for Papers: 

The call for papers for LSPHE 2020 is now open. Presentations will normally be
20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes of questions and discussion. 

Please email a brief proposal (up to 250 words) to
LanguageCentreEvents at unibz.it by the end of March. The conference has three
working languages: German, Italian and English. Papers in Italian and German
should be accompanied by a visual aid in English. 
 
Presenters will be given the opportunity to submit their paper in written form
for publication in a peer-reviewed, open access European journal. 
 
Contributions may focus on, but are not limited to, the following LSP-related
themes: 
-Teaching practice & methodology
-Embedding LSP elements in general/multidisciplinary courses 
-Developing students’ skills 
-Curriculum design
-Assessment
-ICT and innovation
-Teacher’s role and skills 
-The role of LSP in internationalisation at multi- and plurilingual
universities

We are looking forward to hearing from you and receiving your proposals.
