Position Description for Lecturer Appointment

Department of Linguistics
University of California, Davis

The Department of Linguistics at the University of California at Davis invites
applications for a temporary teaching position in Linguistics for Fall Quarter
2020. Availability of this position depends upon final administrative approval
and the teaching needs of the department. The Department seeks applicants with
demonstrated research and teaching expertise. A completed Ph.D. degree in
Linguistics or related field is required.

The candidate should have a strong background in general linguistics and
morphology. He/she should be able to teach upper division courses in the areas
of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with current
problems and theories in the analysis of word structure, who are experienced
working with teaching assistants, and are competent in the use of Canvas, a
class management system.

Appointments will be on a quarter by quarter basis depending on need.
Compensation is commensurate with ability and experience.

Candidates should electronically submit a letter of application, curriculum
