Linguistic Field(s): Ling & Literature

Subject Language(s): Portuguese (por)

Meeting Description:

The event comprises the activities of the international research project
(CAPES-PrInt) developed by the PPGLEV alongside researchers affiliated to 46
foreign institutions. It aims at reflecting upon the varieties and challenges
of the Portuguese Language, and the multiple manifestations of Portuguese
Language Literatures.

Throughout three days, professors and students from Brazil and abroad will
present and debate investigations associated to the Portuguese Language,
Brazilian Literature, Portuguese Literature, and African Literatures.

Thus, they will shed light on the sixth most spoken language in the world, by
focusing on the countries where Portuguese is an official language, and on
this language’s presence in different nations, especially in universities
where there are researchers on the Portuguese Language, and on Portuguese
Language Literatures.

This year, in addition to Brazil, the following countries are represented:
Angola, Argentina, Cape Verde, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France,
Guinea-Bissau, Italy, Mozambique, Portugal, Spain and United States.

Program Information:

REGISTRATIONS:
Any form of participation is free of charge.

SYMPOSIUMS:
The event will feature 23 symposiums coordinated by PPGLEV professors, in
partnership with researchers from national, and foreign institutions
affiliated to the project “Voices and Writings in the Different Spaces of the
Portuguese Language”.

The symposiums are distributed as follows:
    Portuguese Language -> 13
    Brazilian Literature -> 4
    Portuguese Literature -> 3
    African Literatures -> 3

Professors, postdoctoral students, recent-PhDs, doctoral students,
recent-masters, and MA students from any institution in Brazil or abroad can
present papers ranging from 10 to 15 minutes. In order to do so, those who are
interested must fill out the Paper submission form until October 18.

Important: in case of a co-authored work, please, indicate the other
co-authors in parentheses, next to your full name.

Since this event is entirely free of charge, approved papers are automatically
registered. The list of approved papers will be published in this site on
October 31. Until November 5, researchers whose papers have been approved must
share their recording, or the paper itself, so that the other symposium
participants get to know the content of the presentation beforehand.
Therefore, online sessions will focus on the debate.

ATTENDEE REGISTRATION:
Anyone can register as a non-presenter participant. Those who are interested
in registering as an attendee should fill out the Attendee registration form.
Attendee registrations are open until November 8. On November 15, the links
for the conferences, roundtables, and symposiums will be available on this
page. Participants will receive a certificate.
