Subject: Survey about Replication Studies in L2 Research

Dear all,

We are undertaking a survey about the attitudes and practices of researchers
in the field of second language (L2) research towards replication studies [see
link provided below]. All researchers, including graduate students, who have
replicated empirical studies and those who have not are invited to complete
this survey. The will survey will take between ten and fifteen minutes to
complete.

For the purposes of this survey, the field of L2 research includes any
research that involves analyzing data from L2 speakers. A replication study is
defined as an empirical study that involves repeating the research procedure
of a previous piece of work, with or without changes (Schmidt 2009).

If you can, you are encouraged to forward this message to your colleagues and
collaborators.
