Lately, there has been a lot of research exploring which varieties of English
are taught in foreign language acquisition contexts and how different
varieties are perceived by learners, compared to native listeners. However,
there is far less research on other languages. We therefore focus on the
perception of linguistic varieties of French by non-native French learners in
comparison to the evaluations of native French speakers. 

We are currently looking for native as well as non-native speakers of French
who agree to participate in our study. Volunteers will be asked to listen to
several recordings (about 10-20 seconds each) and to answer some questions
about them. At the end, there will be a few questions about your linguistic
background. The whole survey is anonymous and takes about 60 minutes to
complete. It is available here:

Ces derniers temps, l’on constate une grande quantité d’études s’intéressant
au choix de la variété de référence dans le cadre de l’enseignement de
l’anglais langue étrangère ainsi qu’à la perception de diverses variétés par
des apprenants. Quant aux autres langues, les projets de recherche sont
beaucoup moins nombreux. Vu que, étant donné son histoire de politique
linguistique « spéciale », le paysage variationnel du français n’est pas
comparable à celui de l’anglais, nous nous intéressons à la perception des
variétés du français par des apprenants du français, comparée aux auditeurs
natifs.

Pour notre enquête, nous avons besoin de locuteurs natifs et non-natifs du
français qui acceptent de remplir un questionnaire en ligne. Nous vous
demanderons d’écouter des extraits audio (chacun d’environ 10-20 secondes) et
de répondre à quelques questions. Afin de permettre une interprétation valide
des réponses, le formulaire contient aussi des questions concernant votre
profil linguistique. Le questionnaire est anonyme et vous prendra environ 60
