Description:

A tenure-track appointment is intended in the area of phonology beginning
September 2021. As the department seeks to complement and build on its
existing strengths, applications are encouraged from scholars specializing in
laboratory phonology, computational phonology, sound change or modeling of
phonological variation; whose research focuses on languages other than English
(including signed languages, endangered or under-studied languages, and
stigmatized linguistic varieties); and who are eager to interact with students
and faculty from the broader linguistics and language processing community at
the University of Washington.  The Department of Linguistics is firmly

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The
successful applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise
student research, and develop a high-impact research program. This position is
full-time (100% FTE), with a 9-month service period. 

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, in Linguistics or
a related field and be highly qualified for undergraduate and graduate
teaching and independent research. All qualified candidates are encouraged to
