Description:

The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film at QMUL is looking to appoint a
fixed-term Lecturer in Linguistics (T&S), within the Department of Linguistics
from 20 September to 17 December 2021 (semester A, 2021-22). 

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching,
assessment, and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate (taught)
students within the area of syntax/semantics, and to contribute to the life of
the Department and the School by participating in relevant postgraduate
reading groups and seminars, and by undertaking appropriate administrative and
advisory duties.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following modules:
- LIN5217 Introduction to Semantics, Level 5 BA, SEM A, Compulsory
- LIN5213 Syntax II, Level 5 BA, SEM A, Compulsory
- LIN7209 Syntax, Level 7 MA, SEM A, Compulsory

About You:
You will hold a PhD or a relevant professional qualification or equivalent
professional experience, together with the ability to deliver teaching and
assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work
constructively and flexibly with colleagues, good organisational and
communicative skills are also essential. Expertise within the areas of
syntax/semantics is required.

The post is full time, fixed-term appointment for 3-months with an expected
start date of 20 September to 17 December 2021. The salary will be Grade 5,
£42,433 per annum (pro rata for the 3 months duration), inclusive of London
Allowance.
