Meeting Description:

The 12th International Conference on Third Language Acquisition and
Multilingualism will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences,
University of Zagreb, Croatia, on September 15-17, 2022. For the first time,
the conference will be preceded by a doctoral workshop on September 14, 2022.

Jason Rothman, University of Tromsø (Norway) & Universidad Nebrija (Spain)
Lidija Cvikić, University of Zagreb (Croatia)

We welcome original and previously unpublished papers on research in all areas
of multilingualism and the acquisition or use of three or more languages. The
language of the conference is predominantly English, but contributions in
other languages will also be considered.

DEADLINE EXTENDED until January 10, 2022.
The call for papers opens on November 2, 2021, and closes on January 10, 2022.
 
Types of presentations and abstract submission
We welcome abstracts in three categories: individual papers in parallel
sessions, posters and doctoral student workshops.

Individual papers will be allotted 30 minutes: 20 minutes for the presentation
and 10 minutes for questions and discussion.

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference with alloted
poster session time.

The doctoral student workshop is intended to serve as a platform for
discussions of ongoing PhD research, and for obtaining feedback from senior
researchers (discussants) and other scholars. Doctoral student papers will be
assigned 30 minutes: 15 minutes for the presentation and 15 minutes for the
discussion. Doctoral students, whose proposals are accepted, are required to
send their abstracts, presentation and specific questions to the discussant
before the conference (deadline TBA). The doctoral workshop will take place on
September 14th in the afternoon.

Abstracts for individual papers and posters should be sent in English or in
the language of presentation, accompanied by an English translation. The
abstracts should be submitted no later than January 10, 2022 via conference
e-mail: iaml3conference2020 at ffzg.hr (subject line: IAM2022 NOVEMBER CALL).

Abstracts should contain max. 300 words, excluding title and references.
Please use Arial or Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing. Please note that
each participant can appear as the first author (and presenter) of one
presentation only.

Abstracts for the doctoral student workshop should be submitted in English no
later than January 10, 2022 via conference e-mail: iaml3conference2020 at ffzg.hr
(subject line: IAM2022 PHD CALL).

Abstracts should contain max. 300 words, excluding title and references.
Please use Arial or Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing.

All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the scientific committee and
evaluated in terms of the quality of content, clarity, contribution to the
field and thematic relevance. 

Notifications of acceptance will be sent before February 10, 2022.
