Senior academic position in the Department of Linguistics 

The Department of Linguistics at the School of Philosophy, Linguistics and
Science Studies at Tel Aviv University invites applications for a tenure-track
position (rank open), commencing January 1, 2022. The appointment is in the
area of Semantics. We encourage in particular applicants whose work is focused
on semantic theory, but connects with other areas of linguistics, including
computational and experimental areas, and/or with adjacent fields, e.g. logic
and philosophy of language. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in linguistics or
a related field by the beginning of employment. 

The successful candidate will be expected to have an excellent publication
record for their career stage and to apply for competitive research grants.
While pursuing their own research agenda, the candidate is expected to be able
to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues in other
sub-disciplines within Linguistics, in the School of Philosophy, Linguistics
and Science Studies, and in the Faculty of Humanities, and other faculties
(Computer Sciences, Social Sciences) more broadly. The potential to make a
significant contribution to the research culture, graduate programs, and
impact of the department is essential.

Faculty responsibilities include:
- Conducting research in the area of semantics 
- Applying for external research funding 
- Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, including teaching of
introductory semantics courses and other courses as required by the
department's curriculum. The candidate is expected to be able to teach in
Hebrew within three years of their appointment. 
- Supervising M.A. and Ph.D. students 
- Academic citizenship

- CV, including list of publications 
- Up to 5 of the applicant's most relevant academic works 
- Research statement outlining the applicant's research interests, previous
achievements, and plans, as well as the broader questions that their research
promises to engage with
- Teaching statement
- Names and addresses of three senior scholars (potential referees)

Salary and employment conditions will conform to Tel Aviv University
regulations. The appointment procedure will be carried out according to the
rules and regulations of Tel Aviv University and are subject to the approval
of the University’s authorities. The position will become effective starting
from January 1st 2022 and the academic rank will be determined towards the
beginning of employment.

Candidates who proceed to the second stage of evaluation will be asked to have
three reference letters sent directly from senior scholars to the above
address.

The Faculty of Humanities at Tel Aviv University is interested in increasing
