Description:

The University at Albany, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures
(https://www.albany.edu/llc) seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in
Portuguese to begin Fall 2021. The ideal candidate will have a background in
some area of Brazilian linguistics, literature or cultural studies, experience
teaching Portuguese to speakers of English, and native/near-native skills in
Portuguese and English. Responsibilities include teaching 3 courses per
semester and active involvement in the Portuguese Program, including advising
and mentoring students, and program promotion.

PhD or ABD in an area pertinent to the teaching of Portuguese, with a degree
from either a university accredited by the US Department of Education or an
internationally recognized accrediting organization. This is a one-year
position with possible renewal for an additional year.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until filled.

three letters of recommendation (one letter should address the candidate's
