Visiting Assistant Professor – Linguistics 

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Rochester
(http://www.sas.rochester.edu/lin/) invites applications for a one-year
non-tenure track appointment as a visiting assistant professor to begin August
1, 2021. We seek candidates with a record of excellent teaching and research
in phonetics, phonology, with secondary specialty in morphology, syntax or
semantics being advantageous. Evidence of Interest in interdisciplinary work
is desirable. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand before the appointment
begins. Duties include teaching introductory linguistics, phonetics/phonology,
and potentially courses in morphology, syntax or semantics, depending on
candidate's expertise. 

The Department of Linguistics is part of a larger active interdisciplinary
community consisting of faculty and students doing language research in
linguistics, cognitive science, philosophy, computer science, and
neuroscience. We seek candidates who are likely to benefit by those
connections. This is a full-time position with benefits.
