Description:

The Department of Language and Linguistic Science is seeking to appoint an
Associate Lecturer in Sociolinguistics, fixed-term for 12 months (full-time). 

The successful applicant to the position of Associate Lecturer in
Sociolinguistics will contribute to teaching from January 2022.

You will play a full part in teaching, supervision and administration in the
Department, with particular responsibility for teaching in sociolinguistics on
our programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed: 
You are an early-career academic, with a PhD in Linguistics or closely related
field, who is committed to excellence in teaching and supervision. You will
have specialist knowledge in sociolinguistics as well as in a range of
research techniques and methodologies. We particularly welcome candidates with
research and teaching interests that will relate to the department’s research
portfolio in one or more of the following areas: language variation and
change, sociolinguistics, varieties of English.
