Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics; Historical Linguistics; Linguistic Theories; Text/Corpus Linguistics

Language Family(ies): Romance; Romance-based

Call Deadline: 15-May-2021

Meeting Description:

Languages: Romance languages and idioms as well as non-Romance contact
varieties

The workshop is designed to give participants the occasion to present new
findings and, especially, non-canonic approaches, as well as rather unusual
object languages and to discuss them with colleagues from a wide array of
linguistic disciplines. The contributions should be empirically and/or
theoretically based. The main focus of the workshop is the crossing of
theoretical or linguistic boundaries and the application of new empirical
methods on hitherto unknown or less studied idioms. This does not exclude
studies on Romance standard languages.

Call for Papers:

Talks on already advanced research and impulsive talks (i.e. new ideas or
plans for future research) are equally welcome.

Abstracts (ca. 300 words) in English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese or
German can be sent to either stefan.koch at uni-graz.at or
katharina.gerhalter at uni-graz.at until 15 May, 2021. Notification of acceptance
until 31 May, 2021.

A publication (peer reviewed) is the explicit objective of the workshop. As of
now, manuscripts are to be sent until 31 December 2021.

The workshop is planned as a direct encounter with the participants being
physically present in Graz. Should the need arise (individually or generally),
a hybrid or fully digital format will be chosen. Being aware of possible
travel restrictions or health concerns we wish to facilitate a participation
for every accepted scholar.
