Description:

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is inviting suitable
individuals as casual academics to teach into one of the largest topics at
Flinders University. The topic, Academic and Professional Communication, aims
to develop students’ academic communication skills at the university.

For this position, casual academics should be willing to commit between 8-12
hours of teaching per week during the regular semester period.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least a Master’s degree in English Language Education
(or closely related fields in Applied Linguistics) from an accredited program
at the time of application. Candidates should also have a minimum of two
years’ experience in tertiary level teaching. Professional knowledge and
experience of EAP/ESP teaching and flipped/blended learning and teaching is
definitely an advantage.

The successful candidates also need to possess the following abilities:
- Show an awareness of effective EAP pedagogy in student-centred approaches,
- Strong ability to build rapport with and motivate students,
- Possess excellent organizational skills,
- Have excellent communication skills,
- Be collegial and willing to work as part of a team

The selected candidate is expected to begin teaching in the second semester of
2021.
