From: OED Team [oed.uk at oup.com]
Subject: Free Webinar - Oxford English Dictionary Resources to Support Teaching and Academic Research in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan

When:
Thu 21 October, 14:00 CST (UTC +8)/07:00 BST (UTC +1)

Book your place:
http://tiny.cc/OED-HK-Macao-Taiwan

The OED is a powerful online linguistic resource, providing features, tools,
and language data which are essential for academic research and teaching.
However, the extent of the OED capabilities is not always explored to its full
potential.
Join the Oxford University Press team – Dr Danica Salazar, World English
Editor, and Ms Chen Zhou, Regional Customer Trainer, for a live interactive
online session where they will provide an overview of all the OED can offer:

- More than a dictionary: an overview of the OED functionality and content,
including the available resources related to recent language developments, and
the coverage of words of Chinese origin.
- Available support: the training and resources available to users
- Q&A time: bring your questions to the panellists, or send them in advance to
oed.uk at oup.com

Our guest speaker, Dr Lisa Lim, Associate Professor at Curtin University and
‘Language Matters’ columnist for the South China Morning Post, will be
presenting her perspective of how the OED can be used in academic and other
professional research, within the realms of language contact and evolution
within multicultural environments.

Who is this for?
- Lecturers, researchers, teachers, and others who use or may use the OED for
research and teaching purposes
- Librarians, representatives of universities, schools, and other education
institutions who have or may be considering access to the OED for their
organizations

Please note that the presentation will be in English. It will be recorded and
made available for viewing after the live session. All registrants will be
notified.
