Description:

Yale University seeks to make an open rank faculty appointment in the area of
Computational Linguistics/Natural Language Processing (NLP), to begin in Fall
2022. The selected scholar will have a primary appointment in the Department
of Linguistics, with a secondary appointment in either the Department of
Statistics & Data Science or the Department of Computer Science. They will
teach both introductory and advanced courses in Computational Linguistics/NLP
at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and advise student research. This
position is part of the university’s commitment to expansion in the area of
integrative data science.

The selected candidate will have a highly productive and visible research
program that engages with both the linguistics and NLP/machine learning
communities. Applicants at the senior level should have demonstrated
excellence in teaching and advising. A PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant
discipline is required at the time of hire.
