Description:
The II Summer School in Catalan Linguistics (EDELC 2022) will be held from 7
to 10 September 2022, at the University of Oxford. EDELC intends to be a
meeting point for students and professors of Catalan linguistics based in
Catalan-speaking territories and elsewhere. EDELC 2022 is organized by
Institut Ramon Llull, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge,
and Queen Mary University of London, in collaboration with the Government of
the Balearic Islands (Direcció General de Política Lingüística) and the
University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).

EDELC aims at offering training in Catalan linguistics to undergraduate and
postgraduate students, with special attention to students from universities
outside Catalan-speaking areas who have an interest in Catalan or have already
begun to investigate some aspect of its linguistics. In addition to the
introductory courses in different areas of Catalan linguistics, EDELC 2022
will include tutorials dedicated to specific aspects of the courses and a
space for the presentation of work by students, which will enable direct
interaction with specialists. EDELC therefore wants to facilitate
collaborations, co-supervision, and the creation of a supportive network in
linguistic studies on Catalan.

EDELC 2022 will include four introductory courses in one of the following
areas:

Phonetics & phonology
Morphology
Semantics & pragmatics
