Description:

The IDN Program Coordinator is responsible for various operational tasks in
support of IDN programs including review of IDN tables, testing and
maintenance of tools, maintenance of reference documentation, selected
research tasks related to IDNs, and administrative tasks as needed.

This role requires strong analytical and technical skills. This is an entry
level position with opportunities for growth within the program and the
organization.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
 - Reviewing IDN tables submitted by the Registry Operators (ROs). The review
uses relevant reference Label Generation Rules (LGRs) as a baseline for
security and stability considerations. The review is conducted by using the
IDN table review tool.
 - Reviewing the reports generated by the IDN table review tool and develop
the review reports to be shared externally.
 - Developing test cases and test scripts for LGR tool and IDN table review
tool testing.
 - Conducting the tests for the tools based on the test cases, including
regression testing, and generate the test reports.
 - Coordinating with relevant teams or vendors to resolve the issues found
from the tool testing.
 - Coordinating the development of new reference LGRs and maintaining the
reference LGRs published on ICANN website.
 - Conducting research tasks relevant to IDNs as assigned or requested.
 - Performing administrative tasks for IDN Program, including contracting
support, maintaining internal and public webpages and mailing lists.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
 - Understanding of basic Internet infrastructure including the Domain Name
System (DNS).
 - Understanding of Unicode and Internet Protocols relevant to IDNs.
 - Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Education and Experience Requirements:
 - Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or a related field;
preference will be given to those with coursework in computational
linguistics, minimum 1-2 years of related work, project experience or
equivalent.
 - Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
required.
 - Experience programming for data processing preferred.
 - Project management experience preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
 - Willingness and ability to work remotely including virtual meetings in
flexible time zones.
 - Flexibility to travel 2-3 times a year and more if needed.
 - Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and
some exposure to background noise or remotely based on office policies.
