Linguistic Field(s): Computational Linguistics

Meeting Description:

May 13-14, 2022, the University of Maryland Department of Linguistics hosts
its annual Mayfest, a two-day workshop that brings together researchers from a
variety of disciplines and perspectives to discuss fundamental issues in
linguistics.

In 2022, Mayfest is a view of our field through the lenses of those who, over
the last 30 years, have studied and worked with Norbert Hornstein, a founder
of our department. We have invited 13 student and faculty alumni –
distinguished researchers in syntax, semantics, processing, neuroscience,
computational models and acquisition – to gather at Maryland, after a two-year
covid delay, and share with us their work and their views on linguistics. Our
speakers are: Alan Munn, Alexis Wellwood, Cristina Schmitt, Cilene Rodrigues,
Dave Kush, David Poeppel, Ellen Lau, Jairo Nunes, Jon Sprouse, Kleanthes
Grohmann, Maria Polinsky, Masaya Yoshida and Tim Hunter.

Information about the schedule of events will be available on this page:
