Courses to teach:
Graduate school: Lectures and seminars on linguistics and language sciences,
and common graduate classes in Division of Language Studies and in Department
of Theoretical Linguistics 
Undergraduate course: English

Qualifications: 
 - Applicants must have a PhD and have graduated from university at least five
years ago with at least three years of educational experience at the
university level as an associate professor, senior assistant professor, or
assistant professor (for Associate Professor) or at least one year of
educational experience at the university level as a senior assistant
professor, or assistant professor (for Senior Assistant Professor). The
specified number of years may be shortened for those who are exceptionally
superior in other conditions.

 - An area of expertise must be relevant to linguistics/language sciences,
with emphasis onJapanese (including contrastive study) or Japanese language
education. Applicants have conducted international collaboration with
researchers worldwide and have obtained adequate research achievements and
performance (e.g., articles, books, presentations).

 - As an associate professor or senior assistant professor in the Department
of Theoretical Linguistics at the GSICS, applicants can teach (a) lectures on
linguistics/language science, Japanese linguistics, or Japanese language
education research, (b) common courses designed for graduate students in
Division of Language Studies and Department of Theoretical Linguistics, and
English-related courses for undergraduate students. In addition, applicants
must be able to participate in the International Graduate Program in Language
Sciences (IGPLS). IGPLS provides education and research supervision in
English.

 - Applicants of any nationality can apply for this position, but they must be
able to teach and research in both Japanese and English.

 - This is a tenure track position. The term of employment for tenure track
positions is four years. A tenure review will be conducted in the second year
of employment, which upon successfully passing, the applicant will be granted
