Meeting Description:

The North American Association for the History of the Language Sciences
(NAAHoLS) promotes the study of the history of the many disciplines concerned
with language.  These include the field of linguistics and sub-fields within
anthropology, cognitive science, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.
NAAHoLS was founded in San Francisco in December 1987. The first NAAHoLS
meeting was held in December 1988 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and NAAHoLS began
meeting as a Sister Society of the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) in
1989.


Call for Papers:

The 2023 Annual Meeting will be held concurrently with the Linguistic Society
of America conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Denver, CO, on January 6
and 7, 2023. 

We invite papers relating to any aspect of the history of the language
sciences. All presenters must be members of the association (contact the
NAAHoLS Secretary for details). Papers will be 20 minutes, with 10 minutes for
discussion. Abstracts should be submitted as file attachments (preferably in
Word). The length of the abstract should not exceed 500 words – upon
acceptance, a shorter (100 word) abstract will also be requested for the LSA
meeting handbook. 

The deadline for abstracts is 1 September 2022.
