Call Deadline: 01-Feb-2023

Meeting Description:

The Department of Languages and Literature (School of Humanities and Social
Sciences) of the University of Nicosia is pleased to announce the Advances in
second/foreign language acquisition (ASeFoLA 2023) conference. ASeFoLA 2023
will take place in person at the University of Nicosia in 9-10 June 2023.

ASeFoLA aims to bring together researchers from around the world who are
working to better understand the second/foreign language acquisition process.
Contributions may concentrate on mono-/bi-/multilingual speakers who learn or
acquire an additional language in mono-/bi-/multilingual contexts. Thus, any
conclusions on the second/foreign language acquisition process should consider
both the role of speakers’ linguistic repertoires and the linguistic context.

Call for Papers:

We encourage submissions which employ varied research techniques from diverse
fields which include but are not limited to theoretical and applied
linguistics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, computational linguistics,
neurolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, and education.

Abstracts of up to 400 words (excluding references, tables, and figures) must
be written in English and be anonymous. Each author can submit up to two
abstracts (one individual and one joint). Please note that your abstract may
be accepted as a poster.

Presentations should last 20 minutes (15 minutes for the presentation and 5
minutes for discussion). There will be no conference fees for the authors.
