Salary, Grade 7/8, £37,474 - 42,115 / £46,047 - £53,353 per annum.

The School of Critical Studies seeks to appoint a Lecturer in 
Sociolinguistics based in the subject area of English Language & Linguistics,
which provides world leading research in the analysis of speech and the use of
digital technologies in linguistics. The postholder will contribute to, and
expand on, the existing research strengths in the area of  sociolinguistics,
specialising in multilingualism, language attitudes, interactional 
sociolinguistics, amongst others. Applicants with experience in research with
a qualitative orientation are particularly welcome. The successful candidate
will have an excellent publication record, and demonstrate the potential for
attracting external grant funding. They will offer courses at UG and PG level,
in addition to recruiting and supervising PhD students.
 
For appointment at Grade 7:
The postholder will undertake research of international excellence and
contribute to knowledge exchange activities relative to the discipline,
contribute to learning and teaching on agreed programmes and undertake
administration and service activities in line with the School/College’s
strategic objectives.
 
For appointment at Grade 8:  
The postholder will develop, lead and sustain research and scholarship of
international standard and contribute to the delivery of an excellent student
experience by delivering, organising and reviewing agreed teaching, assessment
and administration processes to enhance learning and teaching in the School of
Critical Studies.
 
This post is full time (35 hr per week) and open ended.
