Job Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Job Title: Senior Research Scientist
Job Rank: Researcher

Specialty Areas: Anthropological Linguistics; Psycholinguistics; Sociolinguistics

Required Language(s): English (eng)

Description:

Are you a quantitative social or behavioural researcher with 1 to 2 years
postdoc experience, looking to move from academia into an industrial position
that values academic integrity and research to the highest degree? This might
just be the job for you!

We are looking for a quantitative researcher with a sociology, psychology or
linguistic background to join our team as a Senior Research Scientist and
ensure that our scientific frameworks continue to be both scalable and capable
of meeting high academic standards. You will be conducting empirical
sociological research in collaboration with our linguists and external
academic advisors. You will own the research processes from design to data
analysis, grant applications, internal coordination and publication.

You will be implementing your academic knowledge hands on and will have the
possibility to watch the impact of your research unfold in real life as you
directly participate in product development in various ways. You will also be
responsible of growing and coordinating the research team.

We firmly believe in the importance of diverse research voices as the only way
to genuinely investigate issues affecting people from various backgrounds and
therefore, we actively invite people from marginalised backgrounds to apply
for this position.

Your profile:
You are an experienced social researcher with in-depth knowledge in the ways
of how people's decisions and opportunities are affected by societal and
individual factors, and are interested in language as a tool to effect
inclusion and equality. You have experience of testing and quantifying these
effects - while also being aware and critical of the limitations and
challenges such methods may present. In addition to this, you also have
hands-on experience in the processes of funding, coordinating and publishing
research in a PhD or postdoc setting.

You have 1-2 years of postdoc research experience in one of the following or
similar, closely related fields:
 - psycholinguistics
 - sociolinguistics
 - linguistic anthropology
 - sociology
 - social psychology

Your responsibilities:
 - Plan, design, carry out and evaluate relevant empirical research directly
supporting the development of our product
 - Publish research results in the form of both whitepapers and peer-reviewed
articles
 - Seek out and apply to relevant research grants
 - Grow and coordinate a team of researchers

Relevant skills for the position:
 - Fluent English proficiency
 - Experience in designing and conducting quantitative experiments in one of
the previously mentioned fields
 - Experience in building advanced questionnaires using Qualtrics,
SurveyMonkey or a similar platform
 - Statistical analysis skills in R, pandas (Python) or similar
 - Writing and publishing peer-reviewed studies
 - Applying to research grants
 - Effective communication and coordination of research tasks with the rest of
the team

What we have to offer:
 - Learn and grow your professional skills while developing a commercial
product with academic standards as a senior researcher
 - Possibility of professional growth into research group leader or principal
investigator
 - Work towards a more equitable world
 - Work in a highly motivated, international, diverse and creative team
 - Accommodations and accessible workspace
