Description:

The appointment includes teaching, supervision and examination in English
specialising in literary studies at first- and second-cycle levels, in
freestanding courses (e.g., in grammar, phonetics, academic communication,
English language history) and within the Teacher Education programme (e.g.,
placements/VFU) both on campus and online. Some courses in the subject are
contrastive between English and Swedish, which requires competence to teach in
both languages.

Course development and tasks of an administrative nature are also included,
such as course coordination and work with the University’s virtual learning
environment. Teaching evening courses may also be included. The successful
candidate is expected to contribute to the activities of the subject area and
the Department as a whole, which requires a good ability to cooperate with
others, and may also involve teaching not just in English but also in Swedish
in a range of courses and study programmes in the subject area.

Research is also included, and the applicant is expected to actively seek
research funding from leading Swedish and international research funding
bodies.

The successful candidate is expected to be present at the Department and to
participate in day-to-day work on site.
