Description:
Casa Areyto is looking for interns/volunteers to work as communications
coordinators, social media engagers, and generally tech-savvy individuals to
lend their expertise in preparation for the Reencuentro Taíno Conference, a
first-of-its-kind, international conference to be held August 9-11, 2023 in
Canóvanas, PR. 

About Casa Areyto:
Casa Areyto is an organization that provides free online Taíno language and
culture lessons via YouTube videos, other social media sites, and children’s

The Reencuentro Taíno Conference was created by Casa Areyto in conjunction
with the Office of Culture and Tourism for the municipality of Canóvanas, PR.
This international conference will feature tribal groups working on Taíno
language revitalization, archeologists, engineers, artists, musicians, and
spiritual leaders from the Taíno community. 

Tasks:
Interns may be assigned a variety of tasks, including:
 - writing and/or translating English and Spanish text for the conference
website and social media platforms
 - social media engagement with this Indigenous community 
 - requesting and organizing presenter materials
 - helping to develop a list of potential conference sponsors
 - communicating with potential conference sponsors via email and phone (in
English and/or Spanish)
 - other general coordination tasks with various event teams

Participation in this project provides valuable project and task management
training and experience, English and Spanish business communication skills
development, event planning and community organization skills, and much more.
Casa Areyto will also provide letters of recommendation and highlight
interns/volunteers on our conference website and social media platforms.

 - Strong written and oral English communication 
 - Written and oral Spanish language skills (a plus)
