Candidates must have earned a PhD in Linguistics, Computer Science,
Psychology, Cognitive Science or a closely related area—with a focus on

Candidates must have a strong focus on applying computational methods to

acquisition. Research connections with NLP/speech technology will be
considered an asset. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate an ability to
teach foundational linguistics courses.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence through a record of
publications in top-ranked journals/conference proceedings or forthcoming
publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research
statement, significant conference presentations, awards and accolades, and
strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Evidence of excellence in
teaching will be provided through the teaching dossier and strong letters of
reference. Candidates must also show evidence of a commitment to equity,
diversity, and inclusion, through the application materials. Salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.

All qualified candidates are invited to apply online via the link below.
Applicants must submit a cover letter, a CV, a research statement outlining
current and future research, a recent writing sample, and a teaching dossier,
including a teaching statement, sample course materials, ideas for future
teaching, and course evaluations. Applicants must also provide names of three
references, and ensure that references submit letters (on letterhead, dated
and signed) by the closing date. Submission guidelines are at
http://uoft.me/how-to-apply. Please upload your CV and cover letter into the
dedicated fields, and combine additional materials into one/two files in
PDF/MS Word.

For any questions, contact Prof. Juvénal Ndayiragije at the email address
below. All application materials, including reference letters, must be
received by November 17, 2022.
