Subject: Call for Essays on Linguistic History and Language Studies

Please share widely
I have been asked to edit a special volume for the online journal
Humanities (ISSN 2076-0787), on the topic ‘Linguistic History and
Language Studies’.
I plan the volume to appear in 2025.

I envisage a wide-based approach. As some of you may know, I have done
some work on sociolinguistic history in specific places, by which I
have attempted to trace the nature of how language has been used in
societies across time
Equally, essays on the study of linguistic change in relation to the
various uses this study has had over time, whether in popular,
pedagogical or sociological terms, would also be most welcome.

If anyone would like to propose a paper for the collection, please
send a title and abstract to me either using Facebook Messenger or
(preferably) on r.millar at abdn.ac.uk.
