Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University
of Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor
of instruction position, to support the Department's advising and
teaching needs. This appointment is expected to begin on August 16,
2023, and will last for one year with the possibility of renewal for
another year.  The primary responsibility of this position is to teach
a subset of the following courses: Introduction to Linguistics,
Science of Language, Introduction to Cognitive Science, First Language
Development, Psycholinguistics, Structure of English,
Sociolinguistics, Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism, Topics
in Cognitive Science. The successful candidate is also expected to
contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion within the department
and the university. We seek individuals who demonstrate a strong
commitment to excellence in teaching. The Department of Linguistics
and Cognitive Science (https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu) offers a PhD
in Linguistics, a Master's degree in Linguistics and Cognitive
Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science (that
includes a track for Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology), and
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. The Department is comprised
of 12 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 30 PhD students, 25
MA students, 300 undergraduate majors and 60 minors.
