Em 2023 o GPP completa 10 anos!

Desde seu início, em 2013, o Grupo de Pesquisa "Pragmática
(inter)linguística, cross-cultural e intercultural" (GPP) tem se
dedicado ao estudo de atos de fala em perspectiva cross-cultural,
concentrando-se principalmente no pedido, um ato social básico que
usamos desde infância para realizar os desejos e as necessidades da
nossa vida cotidiana. Nessa trajetória, o GPP tem amadurecido seu
entendimento não só do ato de fala do pedido em si, como também da
metodologia e dos instrumentos necessários para desenvolver um estudo
cross-cultural. No momento, o Grupo está desenvolvendo uma nova fase
do estudo, que, graças aos financiamentos da FAPESP e do CNPq, prevê a
utilização de diversos instrumentos de coleta de dados e uma maior
variedade de línguas, além da perspectiva de criar um corpus
multilíngue e atividades didáticas que serão disponibilizadas on-line
ao final do projeto.


Para a nona edição da nossa anual Jornada de Estudos em Pragmática da
USP (IX JEP), escolhemos o tema "Pragmática cross-cultural: desafios
na elaboração de instrumentos para a coleta de dados". Debateremos as
dificuldades de um projeto multilíngue, e trataremos especificamente
de coleta de dados em português brasileiro e europeu, italiano,
espanhol peninsular e rioplatense, inglês, chinês e japonês.

The GPP turns 10 in 2023!

Since its inception in 2013, the Research Group "(inter)linguistic,
cross-cultural and intercultural pragmatics" (GPP) has been dedicated
to the study of speech acts from a cross-cultural perspective,
focusing mainly on the request, a basic social act that we use since
childhood to fulfill the desires and needs of our daily lives. In this
trajectory, the GPP has matured its understanding not only of the
speech act of request itself, but also of the methodology and
instruments needed to develop a cross-cultural study. At the moment,
the Group is developing a new phase of the study which, thanks to
funding from FAPESP and CNPq, foresees the use of different data
collection instruments and a greater variety of languages, as well as
the prospect of creating a multilingual corpus and didactic activities
that will be made available online at the end of the project.


For the ninth edition of our annual Jornada de Estudos em Pragmática
da USP (IX JEP), we have chosen the theme "Cross-cultural pragmatics:
challenges in designing instruments for data collection". We'll be
discussing the difficulties of a multilingual project, and
specifically dealing with data collection in Brazilian and European
Portuguese, Italian, peninsular and rioplatense Spanish, English,
Chinese and Japanese.
