Description:

The Faculty of Humanities at Bar-Ilan University seeks to fill a tenure-track
senior academic position in Linguistics starting October 2023

The Department of English Literature and Linguistics at Bar-Ilan University,
Israel, is inviting applications for an appointment at an open rank with
preference to Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor positions.

Our department is characterized by a strong balance between theoretical
(generative syntax, phonology, morphology and formal semantics-pragmatics) and
applied/experimental linguists (with particular strengths in bilingualism,
sign languages, specific language impairments, reading and neurolinguistics).
We are aiming to strengthen and expand these domains of research. 

Candidates should have a specialization in one or more of the following:
 - Any field of formal (theoretical) linguistics. Phonology, syntax and
semantics are of particular interest. Secondary specializations in
computational linguistics, or the application of NLP and machine learning
methods to linguistic research would be an asset.
 - Neurolinguistics or experimental linguistics broadly defined (experimental
sociolinguistics, experimental phonology, experimental syntax, etc.).
Secondary specializations in phonology, syntax or semantics would be an asset.

Please note:  
 - The language of instruction in our department is English. 
 - The position is subject to academic and budgetary approval by the
University.

Credentials:
 - PhD in Linguistics
 - Proven prominent and international research profile
 - Excellent and continuous academic publication record

Candidate should submit:
 - Cover letter including an academic profile with detailed reference to
research and teaching plans (up to 2 pages)
 - CV including a list of publications
 - List of courses taught and teaching surveys (if there are any)
 - Two selected academic publications
 - Names of 3 referees including academic affiliation and contact details
