Subject: Language and Literacy in their Social Contexts (online module)


The Eu-Speak board, in partnership with LESLLA, is pleased to announce
“Language and literacy in their social contexts”, a module (course)
for classroom practitioners and one-on-one tutors working with adult
learners with limited literacy. It draws on ethnographic and
socio-cultural research focusing on those with little or no formal
education in their home languages. Topic covered include external
influences in the host country, such as social interaction in the

The course is offered in English, German, Spanish, Italian, Finnish
and Turkish.

A $ 55 enrollment fee covers all administrative and technical support.
There is no charge for a personalize Certification of completion,
which acknowledge 30 hours of professional development. There is also
no charge for continued access to the module, which remains open until
the end of March 2023.

- Monday 9 January 2023: paid registration opens
- Wednesday 18 January 2023: the module begins with a 10-day extended
opening week. Content is available and participants start to share
their teaching/tutoring profiles.
