Subject: Perception Study: Vocal Attractiveness in Synthetic Voices

Dear students, collegues and fellow linguists

In this brief survey (2-3 minutes), I aim to determine which
artificial voices humans perceive as likable and which ones they do
not.

Voice research suggests a hypothesis that voices within a certain
frequency range are automatically perceived as more likable. Now, I
would like to test whether the same hypothesis holds true for
synthetic voices. If proven, this will provide valuable insights into
how voices for future TTS-models, voice assistants, and similar
technologies should sound in order to enhance human-machine
communication.

Thank you very much for your participation!

Please feel free to share the survey as well.

Best,

Florina Zülli
